PSP Lite and new releases from Sony is it worth buying ?

I saw a PSP Lite for sale in GAME shop today for �99 I was wondering was it worth buying now as I'm well aware these are very old now. Are Sony going to be releasing new handheld consoles? It would be such a waste. Thanks for any advice
