I am 6 months pregnant and have had a really hard pregnancy. Am I being selfish?

I was hospitalized for 9 days with a bacterial infection in my stomach, I am severly anemic and I am so physically tired from the anemia and pregnancy. My step daughters brother just came down with shingles and I am responsible to watch her this weekend because my husband works. I am afraid of getting something from my step daughter when I don't know if shes touched her brothers open sores. From reading on line thats how shingles can spread. Shingles I think can cause birth defects in fetuses. Am I wrong that I want to protect my unborn child?
