If California pes the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage again, what will be the next step???

Setting aside whether gay marriage is right or wrong, I think it would be horribly upsetting at the most basic levels to have one's marriage invalidated. Suppose, as an Asian, I married someone who was Caucasian, and then later someone said my marriage was null and void. I would be livid! If this proposition goes on the ballot, I'm going to vote against it.
