PS3 and Wireless Router?

I don't think you need a modem along with the router. I know in my house all I have is my router that's on the first floor, my phone is plugged directly into that router, and my ps3 is on my second floor with a wireless connection. I don't have anything else. You shouldn't need to buy anything but that router.
