What is the best way to thaw a Cornish Game Hen? ?

and how long will it take? they are rock hard and I am afraid to leave them outside of the refrigerator overnight for fear of them going bad, food poisoning, etc. Once they are totally defrosted can they go back to the refrigerator to marinate overnight or should I go ahead and cook them right away?
