Can you fight selective enrollment? (Lane)?

My friend just got her letter and was rejected by all of the schools and now she has no choice but to go to a shitty school. Should a straight A student who has always worked her hardest be forced to go to a school whose majority is made up of kids who barely ped? My qiestion is, is there any way you can go to the school and ask them to reconsider or something? Has this happened before? I feel horrible right now, she has more brains in one pinky than my whole cl put together and my other friends and I got in and she didn't. Somone please help?
