How to learn to do the splits in a week?

i am a cheerleader and i have always been afraid to try to do the splits but now that i am ready to learn i cant figure out how to work myself into the splits so i need some basic tips on how to do the splits. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO DO YOGA! also i do not know what cardiac is so if you tell me to do that then explain to me what that is cause no one will tell me. THANK YOU! i really do appreciate the advice.
